Director, Structural Heart Disease Fellowship

The Structural Heart Disease Fellowship Program at Michigan Medicine is a one-year, non-ACGME accredited advanced fellowship training program available to fellows who have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Interventional Cardiology. The program will consist of 1 fellow per year, 12 months in duration, beginning on July 1 of the academic year.

The program will provide specialized training to fellows as independent operators in non-coronary cardiac interventional procedures, encompassing all aspects of structural heart disease. This will include transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR); transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve replacement and repair; pulmonic valve replacement, ASD and PFO closures; mitral and aortic balloon valvuloplasty, paravalvular leak; and atrial appendage closure.

Teaching will be conducted at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center in both the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Robert and Ann Aikens Hybrid Suite. The Frankel Cardiovascular Center was the first U.S. hospital outfitted with the Siemens ARTIS Pheno, a new robotic C-arm angiography system, located on the Michigan Medicine Campus in Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor is consistently ranked among the top places to live in the United States. Check out the Go Blue Guide for information on Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, housing, and much more!
