Work Performance

Department and her co-workers. You will never hear her say, "that's not my job"; but routinely hear, "how can I help?"

When COVID struck in March 2020, Amanda was instrumental in collaborating with program leadership to revamp almost every structured event that exists in Graduate Medical Education. We literally had days to figure out how to move to a viable format for credentialing 60 incoming interns remotely. Then, we had to tackle how to honor our graduating residents without being able to have an in-person ceremony and strategically orient the new incoming class without seeing them in person.

In each instance, Amanda led brainstorming processes, not only offering ideas; but helping flesh out options offered by her co-workers.

In Fall of 2020 she helped take on the monumental task of interviewing 550 applicants via Zoom with faculty remote for the very first time. In many instances, the faculty members were new to Zoom and intimidate by the technology. Amanda anticipated needs and areas where we may face the most struggles and had plans in place to ensure the applicants only experienced a smooth process. We successfully recruited a great class of interns due in large part to her hard work.

Leadership

Amanda serves not only as a mentor to new GME Program Administrators in Internal Medicine; but she is an Institutional mentor, currently working with a new GME Program Administrator in Emergency Medicine.

Amanda serves on our Back-Up team and has stepped in to help run Pulmonary/Critical Care and the GI/Transplant Hepatology programs on three separate occasions.

GME frequently calls on Amanda to speak at their learning sessions on a myriad of topics as she is viewed in the institution as one of the most knowledgeable members of the GME Community.

Amanda has also been nominated to be a councilor on the AAIM Program Administrator Advisory Council.

Customer Service

GME has multiple different customers, first we serve our residents, Program Leadership, Institutional GME and in many ways our GME Fellowships.

Amanda actively responds to resident requests for assistance with any number of tasks; but specifically surrounding the ability to prescribe as Amanda helps enroll them in NPI, PECOS and CHAMPS. She also helps set them up to electronically prescribe controlled substances (EPCS).

Amanda responds after hours and on weekends to Program Director questions and often from Program Administrators for other programs who need help on their tasks or knowledge in how to handle a situation.

Process Improvement

Amanda was a significant contributor in changing multiple processes when COVID hit including credentialing, graduation, orientation, In-Training Exams and recruitment. She also worked diligently with the Fellowship Program Administrators to make sure they had new processes in place that would reliably work and allow them to effectively recruit for their fellowships.

Prior to COVID Amanda had been instrumental in streamlining our mileage reimbursement and Holiday process to keep administrative burden low for both residents and program staff and ensure substantial compliance with the HOA contract.
