Anne Murphy is Chief Department Administrator for the Department of Learning Health Science at the University of Michigan Medical School. Prior to joining DLHS, Ms. Murphy served as the Administrative Director for the University of Michigan Transplant Center, where she had responsibility for all organ transplant programs. Prior to this role, Anne served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Departments of Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Anne is actively involved in efforts to increase organ and tissue donation across the United States, and is a founding member of the Wolverines for Life organization at the University of Michigan. She was a member of United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) region 10’s Collaborative Faculty and an invited speaker at the National Learning Congress for the Transplantation Community of Practice in 2009 and 2012. She is author or co-author on numerous abstracts and poster presentations.
Additionally, she has served on the national Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Membership and Professional Standards Committee and Policy Compliance Subcommittee. She has been a Peer Reviewer for UNOS Site Surveys. She is presently a member of the governing board of directors at the Gift of Life Michigan. Anne was a member of the American Society for Transplantation Administrators Community of Practice (COP) since inception, and served on the COP Executive Committee as co-Chair.
Anne received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of San Francisco, and holds a Masters of Business Administration from San Jose State University. She holds a certificate in Executive Health Care Leadership from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
