Biography
Beth is a master’s student in the Healthcare Infrastructures and Learning Systems (HILS) online program. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Michigan. As an undergrad, she worked in a lab where one of the studies involved performing eye exams on wild mice. That sparked a desire to learn more about Ophthalmology (and to interact with patients instead of mice!). Beth worked as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician at the Kellogg Eye Center for several years before exploring project management within healthcare and ultimately pursuing improvement work as a Continuous Improvement Specialist (all still in Ophthalmology!). As a CI specialist, her work focuses on patient and workforce safety. Her special interests include the impact of well-being on safe care delivery.
