Biography
Candice Stegink is the Associate Director of Innovation in the Center for Surgical Innovation (CSI) at Michigan Medicine. She also co-directs the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Paths of Excellence program at the University of Michigan Medical School. Candice encourages, advises, and offers structured programming to support early-stage biomedical innovation and commercialization for medical faculty and trainees. Through an extension of her work in the CSI, Candice manages the Medical Innovations in eXtended Reality (MIXR) NSF IUCRC. Candice is interested in utilizing the HILS program to explore the utilization of XR technology within medical simulation and its potential impact for teaching bedside procedures for medical trainees.
She has worked at the University of Michigan since 2015 and lives in Pinckney, MI. She has a husband, daughter (6 years), son (3 years), and two rescue dogs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, and camping.
