Corinthia is a first year master’s student in Human Genetics. Her goal for enrolling in the Precision Health Graduate Certificate Program is to further prepare her for a career in medical genomics and precision health. This, along with her current studies in Human Genetics will help her to place focus on patients’cultural and genetic backgrounds. Corinthia is interested in how culture, socioeconomic status, and biological predispositions play a role in healthcare and treatment outcomes. Both healthcare and our scientific understanding of humanity will benefit from taking into account an individual’s unique background, environment, culture, and DNA. Her hope is to further educate our system on the unique needs of other neglected populations and in turn, foster trust in these communities.
