Biography

David Horton is a student at the University of Michigan Department of Learning Health Sciences, where he is pursuing a doctorate in Health Infrastructures and Learning Systems. David obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling in 2020 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a specialization in psychiatric disabilities. From 2020 to 2024, David has worked in clinical trials research, with a focus on developing and evaluating interventions for substance use disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder. His previous research spanned phase 1 and phase 3 clinical trials, behavioral and/or pharmacological interventions, and adaptive interventions. During this time, David amassed experience around clinical trials design, qualitative analysis, and implementation science.
