Biography

Most people call Ekaterini either Kathie, or simply KK. She worked in the Department of Otolaryngology as an administrative assistant from 2016 - 2019.  Prior to her career in administration, she taught English as a Second Language at the University of Michigan-Flint.  After graduating from Wayne State University with an MA and BA in English Literature, Kathie moved to Greece where she taught English Literature and Academic Writing at the Greek Military Academy for many years. She has also taught at Wayne State University’s English Language Institute and other language centers.

Kathie was born in Greece, but completed all of her education in the USA. She moved back to Greece with her family and after living there for over 20 years, she relocated to Michigan in August 2012 due to the Greek economic crisis.  She is bilingual in English and Greek.  She enjoys traveling and one day hopes to visit the countries of all the international students she has had the opportunity to teach. She enjoys learning as much as she enjoys teaching.
