Emily Kobernik earned her PhD in 2022 in Health Infrastructures and Learning Systems. She completed a MPH in Epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and has been a Research Project Manager in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michigan Medicine for over three years. She is interested in understanding how users interface with health infrastructures and how these interactions influence health.

Her dissertation topic was Reducing Maternal Mortality and Morbidity in Michigan: A Mixed Methods Analysis of the Impact of an Obstetric Hemorrhage Patient Safety Bundle

What attracted you to the program? I am joining the Department of Learning Health Sciences to understand how the application of a learning health systems perspective can facilitate implementation of health policy and programs specific to women.
