Biography
Matt is a master’s student in the Cancer Chemical Biology program. As a Neuroscience undergraduate at the University of Michigan, Matt was interested in the intersection of biology and psychology, but he soon learned that it is the interdisciplinary nature of science as a whole that fascinates him most. Therefore, he began coursework in computer science, as he learned that it can supplement biomedical approaches to understanding human behavior and physiology. Matt is interested in exploring the intersections of different fields to build upon the foundation he already constructed as he prepares for a medical career. Thus, the Precision Health Graduate Certificate program is highly intriguing to him because it synthesizes the strengths of individual fields like biology, computer science, and public health to teach students to think critically about the complex medical challenges we face.
