The Michigan Bowel Control Program Offers:

  • Diagnostic testing completed quickly, with coordinated appointments to maximize convenience for the patient
  • Expertise in endoscopic procedures provided by gastroenterology physicians and colorectal surgeons
  • Specialized pelvic floor nerve and muscle testing in the GI Physiology Laboratory
  • UMHS surgeons with extensive operative experience in colorectal and urogynecological interventions
  • A comprehensive pelvic floor muscle strengthening and biofeedback program provided by physical therapists
  • Rapid reports to the patient's primary care or referring physician

Our multidisciplinary team is made up of gastroenterologists, urogynecologists, colorectal surgeons, radiologists, psychologists, physical therapists, nurses, and nutritionists who offer collaborative comprehensive care for patients with these difficult problems. • bowel incontinence
  • constipation
  • rectocele
  • rectovaginal fistulas
  • rectal prolapse
  • pelvic organ prolapse (enterocele, cystocele, urethrocele, rectal prolapse, uterine prolapse, bladder prolapse)
