Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Supreet worked at Michigan Tech University as a Research Scientist, where she studied the development of cell culture systems capable of continuously producing virus-like particles (VLPs). She has a M.S degree in Biochemistry from Iowa State University and another M.S degree in Biotechnology from Amity University, India. At Iowa State, she did extensive research in determining inhibition activity of Apicoplast DNA polymerase through High Throughput Screening and protein crystallography for antimalarial drug discovery. Her most recent research has been published in Separation and Purification Technology. Supreet joined the Koropatkin lab as Research Lab Specialist Associate and her project will focus on how the gut Bacteroidetes sense the dietary carbohydrates xylan and pectin. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters as well as biking and hiking.
