Zach is a graduate student in the O’Riordan lab, joining in May 2021. He received his B.S. in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2019. As an undergraduate in the lab of Dr. JD Sauer, Zach studied options for reducing inflammasome activation during Listeria monocytogenes infection. In the O’Riordan lab, he continues to follow his interest in intracellular bacteria and the interface of host-pathogen interactions. Outside the lab, Zach enjoys video games, playing with his dog, and searching out new parks in Ann Arbor.
