PNR&D Honors Congressman John Dingell

As a Michigan representative in the United States Congress for nearly 60 years, John Dingell's dedication to improving health care across the country has and will continue to pay dividends for decades to come. was a significant supporter of medical research, including the work that takes place in the PNR&D laboratory.

The Program for Neurology Research & Discovery is deeply saddened by Congressman John Dingell’s passing. As a Michigan representative in the United States Congress for nearly 60 years, his dedication to improving health care across the country has and will continue to pay dividends for decades to come. Congressman Dingell was a significant supporter of medical research, including the work that takes place in the PNR&D laboratory.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend John Dingell,” said Eva Feldman, M.D., Ph.D., Russell N. DeJong Professor of Neurology and Director of the Program for Neurology Research & Discovery. “John and Debbie Dingell have been long-time, ardent supporters of medical research and good friends of the University of Michigan. John’s advocacy for developing new disease treatments set the stage for the scientific breakthroughs that are being realized today. My thoughts and prayers go out to Debbie and the Dingell family at this time. We will dearly miss you, John.”
