Translational Research

The multidisciplinary cooperation that moves basic science research from laboratories into clinical trials and practice — a cornerstone of our work at the NeuroNetwork for Emerging Therapies.

At the NeuroNetwork for Emerging Therapies, our scientists start by studying the basic science, for example gene expression or the immune system, in cells or animal models. We then apply that knowledge gained from model studies to select treatment targets that can be applied in humans. Finally, we optimize the treatments for testing in human clinical trials, which, if successful, we hope will enter clinical settings throughout our community. This entire process is fueled by our worldwide network of gifted biologists, immunologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, bioinformaticians, and many more.
