Shayna joined the NeuroNetwork for Emerging Therapies in 2018 and primarily works under Dr. Lisa McGinley, providing technical and surgical support in assessing stem cell transplantation as a potential therapy for Alzheimer's disease. Shayna spent her undergraduate years as a research assistant for the surgeons of the Multidisciplinary Colorectal Cancer Clinic at Michigan Medicine and as a summer camp counselor and instructor for several math camps. She earned her B.S. in mathematics and cellular & molecular biology at the University of Michigan.
