Two Neuroscience Undergrads Receive Prestigious UPiN Awards!

MNI congratulates student researchers Alison Choi and Alice Hill who each received the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience (UPiN) Directors Award for Excellence for their honors theses.

 

 

 

 Alison Choi 

Alison conducted research in Dr. Huda Akil's lab and was mentored by senior graduate student Dalia Murra. Her thesis is titled:

"The Role of the Endogenous Opioid System in Chronic Social Defeat Stress” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                        

 

Alice Hill 

Alice conducted research in the Spencer-Segal lab. Dr. Joanna Spencer-Segal was her mentor. Alice also received assistance from Colin Johnston with her research. The title of her thesis is:

"Corticosterone enhances formation of neutral but not fear memory during infectious illness"
