Areas of Interest
Approximately 10% of fat in healthy adults is stored in adipocytes within the bone. These bone marrow adipocytes (BMAds) develop postnatally and exhibit remarkable plasticity throughout life, expanding or contracting rapidly in response to numerous external stimuli. I am interested in understanding the development of BMAds from their mesenchymal precursors and mechanisms that enable their rapid remodeling in adulthood. I am currently employing lineage tracing approaches to track BMAd fate in different physiological and pathophysiological conditions.
