Areas of Interest

Tendinopathy, a type of tendon disorder that is caused by the failure of tendon to self-repair, results in tendon pain, inflammatory swelling, and impaired function, and affects an estimated 3.5 million Americans each year. Currently, there are limited non-surgical options for patients with tendinopathy and current therapies that do exist often fail to stop the progression ofstructural changes within tendinopathic tendon. My goal is to better understand the regulation of chronic inflammatory signaling in tendinopathy which could elucidate targets for drug development and therapy.
