
William Rainey, PhD, Jerome W. Conn Professor, and Professor of Molecular & Integrative Physiology and Internal Medicine, has been awarded a Carl Friedrich von Siemens Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for his research on adrenal physiology and endocrine neoplasia. The award is given in recognition of the winner’s entire achievements to date and is awarded to academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future. It provides the opportunity for awardees to carry out a research project of their choosing with colleagues in Germany, to promote international scientific collaboration.
Prof. Rainey was nominated for the award by Prof. Dr. Martin Reincke, Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, University Hospital Munich, Germany.
