Tendon does not have innate regenerative properties post-injury; however, we can utilize in vitro disease modeling to manipulate the regeneration of the tendon and tendon-to-bone interface (e.g. enthesis) using tendon fibroblasts in different environments. We evaluate changes in cell behavior (metabolism, matrix production, etc.) of different cellular environments by altering the oxygen concentration and cell culture vessels using biomaterials to determine potential avenues for tendon regeneration.
