Alyssa Lucas, M.D.

Adult Neurology, Class of 2024

Biography

Undergraduate School: Ohio Wesleyan University

Medical School: University of Cincinnati College of Medicine

I was born in the bustling metropolis of Gallipolis, Ohio (with ~3000 of my closest friends) as the oldest of three sisters. I have grown up an avid lover of grunge music thanks to my parents, and am a low-key groupie for a 90s grunge band called Candlebox. At some point I went to a small liberal arts college and whilst there discovered that I am really into the brain, as it would turn out. That led me to medical school in Cincinnati and then to present-day residing in Ann Arbor. So, this is my first time leaving Ohio, as I felt as though this would be a great place to raise my cat and so far I have been correct. I am very thankful for the eclectic nature and radical acceptance of the neurology residents here, who make me feel like I truly belong here (and support my decisions to dye my hair fun colors and wear matching fanny packs with me).

Fun fact: My cat was (very briefly) on the front page of Reddit and that may be my greatest accomplishment thus far.

My theme song: “Hand in My Pocket” by Alanis Morissette
