Biography
Undergraduate school: Calvin College
Medical school: University of Michigan
I grew up in Rochester, New York, where I learned to embrace snowy winters and to cheer for the Buffalo Bills regardless of the season outcome. I moved to Michigan for college, and haven’t left since. I attended Calvin College, a small liberal arts school in Grand Rapids, where I studied biology with a neuroscience concentration and then moved to Ann Arbor to start medical school at the University of Michigan. Although I began medical school planning on specializing in geriatrics, I fell in love with working with children during my pediatric rotations. I was thrilled to match into pediatric neurology residency at the University of Michigan, and look forward to spending the next five years in Ann Arbor! When I am not in the hospital or studying, I love spending time running along the Huron River and exploring all of the trails around the city. I also enjoy spending my free time baking, reading, and playing trivia with my friends.
Fun fact: I love running and try to do at least one distance race (half-marathon or longer) every year!
