"An Update on Tardive and Drug Induced Movement Disorders"

C. Chauncey Spears, MDis a clinical associate professor of neurology and movement disorders specialist at the University of Michigan. He came to the University of Michigan by way of medical school at West Virginia University, residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and fellowship at the University of Florida, the latter under the mentorship of Drs. Okun, Malaty and Armstrong, amongst others. Dr. Spears spends the majority of his time seeing patients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders, in addition to providing botulinum toxin injection. As a clinician-educator and graduate of our Medical Educator Scholars Program, he spends a considerable amount of additional time in educating our medical students, residents and fellows. Others rolls and interests at the university include serving as director of the movement disorders fellowship program, assistant director of the medical student clerkship, and building an Atypical Parkinsonian Syndrome multi-disciplinary clinic, with an emphasis on neuropalliative care and education.
