Jerrold Vitek, MD, PhD

McKnight Professor and Chair

Dr. Jerrold Vitek, PhD is the McKnight Professor and Head of the Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Vitek received his medical degree as well as a doctorate of neurophysiology from the University of Minnesota in 1984 and completed his residency in Neurology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.  He has held faculty positions at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Emory University Medical Center, and The Cleveland Clinic prior to taking the Chair of Neurology position at the University of Minnesota in 2010. He is the Director of the Udall Center of Excellence in Parkinson's Disease as well as the Center for Neuromodulation Research at the University of Minnesota.
