I grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota and hopped around various parts of the Midwest and east coast for school. I met my now wife in Madison, WI and fell in love with the college atmosphere and Midwest hospitality. When applying to residencies, we looked for a similar culture and found it in Ann Arbor.
My initial interest in neurology started in 6th grade when my friend's dad, a neurologist, allowed me to shadow him and fed me donuts in the doctors lounge. I have been hooked on neurology ever since. After completing my undergraduate degree in neurobiology and master's in biotechnology I discovered my interest in combining these two fields through device development.
Outside the hospital, I live with my wife and 16 pound goldendoodle, Charlie. I love to play ultimate, watch baseball, root for the Wisconsin Badgers (sorry), and explore local restaurants.
Fun fact: I once was in an elevator that crashed. 10/10 would not recommend that experience.
