The mission of the multidisciplinary Michigan NeuroSport outpatient clinic is to provide optimal individualized patient-centered care for athletes of all levels with an emphasis on acute concussion care and mitigation of potential long-term consequences of mild head trauma. Michigan NeuroSport also provides care for athletes with concerns about sport participation and neurologic conditions, such as migraine, that might be interfering with sport, school and work performance.
The multidisciplinary clinic has been designed to provide all aspect of clinical care for Sports Neurology with an emphasis on sport related concussion. The team combines the expertise of specialists from Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pediatric Sports Medicine, and Neuropsychology who evaluate patients and determine their plan of care. In addition to physician encounters, clinical care can include spine or vestibular physical therapy, supervised exercise therapy, and mental health care.
The Michigan NeuroSport outpatient clinic has more than 4000 outpatient visits per year, including approximately 600 new patients. Our founding outpatient clinic is housed at Michigan MedSport in Dominos Farms. As first steps in building the regional Michigan NeuroSport Clinic network additional clinical locations opened in the Fall of 2018 at the Brighton Health Center and at the Ice Cube.
