The University of Michigan Neurosurgery Brain Tumor Program provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive, patient-centered services to individuals affected by tumors of the brain and spine. We specialize in treating malignant (cancerous) and non-malignant tumors of the brain and spinal cord using advanced state-of-the-art neurosurgical techniques, including minimally invasive approaches, tumor laser ablation, functional brain tumor mapping, radiosurgery, and surgery within the intraoperative MRI. We offer a broad spectrum of advanced therapeutic options performed by experienced, fellowship trained experts in the field of Oncology. We work closely with our colleagues within the Neuro-Oncology multidisciplinary team, which includes more than 30 physicians and scientists with expertise in brain, spine or ocular tumors.
We emphasize compassionate care, personalized attention, and involvement of the patients in decision-making – to help preserve the quality of life of the patients we treat. We also offer several brain tumor multidisciplinary clinics, including the Michigan Medicine Multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Clinic, and Functional Wellness Initiative, to improve the survival and quality of life of our brain tumor patients.
