Areas of Interest
Dr. Hua's research work is focused on mechanisms of brain injury and functional outcome after intracerebral hemorrhage. She has demonstrated that iron has an important role in brain injury following intracerebral hemorrhage. Dr. Hua is also interested in the effects of gender and age on brain injury following hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke. In addition, her work has included study of the role of complement in hemorrhagic brain injury.
