Transgender Healthcare Curriculum

Training modules to prepare obstetrician-gynecologists and other providers to better care for transgender, non-binary, and other gender-diverse people.

Improving Care for Transgender & Non-Binary Individuals

Transgender, non-binary, and other gender-diverse individuals often face discrimination in health care settings. Research shows that many are unable to find competent, knowledgeable, and culturally-appropriate health care.

The Michigan Medicine Department of OBGYN is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our transgender, non-binary, and other gender-diverse patients and their families.

These modules were developed and produced by Daphna Stroumsa, MD, MPH, in collaboration with physicians and activists across the country and with the support of Michigan Medicine and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG).

Dr. Stroumsa is a graduate of the University of Michigan National Clinician Scholars Program and a faculty member in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility within the Michigan Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
