It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Residency Program at Michigan Medicine. Our residency program is steeped in both history and tradition. Our faculty, fellows, residents, nurses, and researchers work as a team to provide excellence in Women’s Healthcare. We have borrowed a theme from another famous Michigander, Bo Schembechler, it is all about “the team, the team, the team.”
Our program provides residents-in-training a program rich in breadth, and balance. Trainees get an education in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. Our faculty are all leaders in their fields of interest. The Maternal Fetal Medicine division provides all aspects of high-risk care to pregnant women, including a very successful fetal surgery program. Our gynecology division provides specialties services in the areas of Breast Disease, Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Family Planning, Transgender Health Care and Vulvar Diseases. Our Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility provides residents a strong background in endocrine disorders, and all aspects of infertility treatments for women, including PCOS, IVF, and pre-implantation genetics. The Gynecology Oncology Division makes use of all surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients with cancer, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery. The Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery division, second to none, is the leader in research in all aspects of the pelvic floor. The Women’s Health division, a generalist group, provides exposure to routine obstetrics and gynecology care. All residents also have the opportunity to take advantage of the strong International Medicine program, utilizing platforms all over the world. We have no private services; residents care for all patients. Unlike other programs, no one field of specialty dominates, and consequently residents get a balanced education providing a springboard to whichever style of practice they choose.
I would like to thank you for your interest in the OBGYN Residency Program at Michigan Medicine. I look forward to meeting you and feel free to contact me with any questions.
