Registration Now Open for Primary Health Care of Women Conference!

27th Annual Primary Health Care of Women Conference - December 5-6!

The Departments of Family Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical School are pleased to announce that registration for the 27th Annual Primary Health Care of Women Conference is now open.  The course will be held on Thursday, December 5 and Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Holiday Inn on Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  The course agenda can be found at www.UMFamilyMedCME.com.  We encourage you to share this announcement with your colleagues.

This highly-rated conference will feature the latest updates in women’s health care from leading experts in the field.  Once the conference concludes on Friday, you can travel a short distance to Ann Arbor’s annual holiday event—Midnight Madness in downtown Ann Arbor, along with KindleFest in the Kerrytown District.

This course is a clinically-oriented program specifically designed for healthcare professionals with diversified primary care practices, including but not limited to, family physicians, internists, obstetricians, gynecologists, nurse midwives, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. You may register for the full two-day event or just one day. We offer rates for physicians; retirees and health care professionals (NP, PA, RN and Allied Healthcare Professionals); and students and residents.  Early bird registration ends on November 18th so register early!

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Implement best practice methods to improve the diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions in women including, but not limited to, joint pain, abnormal uterine bleeding and eye problems.
  2. Identify evidence-based health care practices in physical health including, but not limited to, gynecology, endocrinology, rheumatology, and oncology.
  3. Implement an integrative approach to the diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions, including but not limited to, chronic pain, menopause and mood disorders.  
  4. Identify best approaches to behavioral change in helping motivate patients toward optimal health including weight loss and alcohol use in women and substance use in adolescents.

The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Michigan Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. As part of the inter-professional health team education, nurses may also claim credit for this course.
