Center for Vulvar Diseases

There are many reasons for seeing a vulvar disease specialist.

The Center for Vulvar Diseases was established in 1993 to better serve and treat women with unique conditions of the external genitalia. Our center is one of only a handful of clinics in the country. We focus on a multidisciplinary approach to help patients understand and cope with their medical condition in addition to providing individualized medical care.

Our team approach allows us to provide a higher intensity of care and expertise to women who have already demonstrated a resistant and/or chronic illness or an unusual vulvar condition.

We care for women with a variety of conditions including chronic dermatologic conditions such as lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, hidradenitis suppurativa, and lichen simplex chronicus, precancerous lesions of the vulva, and other vulvar manifestations of systemic conditions such as Crohn’s. We offer in-office procedures and surgeries when appropriate.

During your first visit to our center, you will see a physician or nurse practitioner for diagnosis and development of a treatment plan. Our team of nurses focus on patient specific education. We have sex counselors on site. In addition to medical treatment, we also connect many patients to additional services and resources.
