Danto Auditorium, Frankel Cardiovascular Center

Please email [email protected] for questions.

Please join us for an engaging presentation and discussion about opportunities and resources for improving how we serve veteran patients and families.

The opportunity to serve our nation’s veterans is an honor for many health care providers.  Along with this honor comes a responsibility to serve veteran patients with a sense of cultural and linguistic competency related to their service. Each veteran has had a unique experience while serving in the armed forces. When health care providers are able to provide care to patients with consideration of their experience as a service member, it displays a sense of appreciation to that veteran for their service. A foundation of knowledge in regards to military culture, veterans’ benefits, veterans’ resources, and how to navigate the systems in place will empower providers to better serve the “veteran” aspect of their patient. This presentation and discussion serves as an introductory conversation and guide with a goal of increasing a veteran’s access to their benefits and improving the care and experience for veterans and their families who receive care at Michigan Medicine.
