World Sight Day 2019 at Kellogg

World Sight Day is an annual day of awareness coordinated by IAPB to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairments.

Scott Lawrence, MD, adjunct professor at Kellogg Eye Center, and ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, traveled to Ann Arbor, MI where he gave a presentation to the general public on eye care in Ethiopia, and vision impairment here in the US. This was followed by a presentation from the Director of Lions Engagement at the Leader Dogs for the Blind, Beth Slade and her leader dog ambassador, Coco. Coco demonstrated for the audience the role of a leader dog for the visually impaired.

A second presentation that same evening by Dr. Lawrence was for our residents and faculty - on global health and eye care in Ethiopia.
