The faculty and staff of our department are dedicated to providing outstanding, state-of-the-art, evidence-based care for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Through our dedication to the interrelated missions of patient care, education, and research, we are able to provide the best and most appropriate care to each of our patients.
Outstanding Patient Care
We believe that a multidisciplinary approach to musculoskeletal health, where bone and joint specialists with different backgrounds work together, provides optimal care for each individual patient. Our goal is to allow individuals to maintain a satisfying level of activity across their lifespan through the maintenance and restoration of musculoskeletal health and function.
Our diverse clinical faculty have specialized training in:
• Sports medicine and shoulder surgery
• Pediatric orthopaedics
• Joint reconstructive surgery
• Orthopaedic trauma and fractures
• Hand and upper extremity surgery
• Foot and ankle surgery
• Spine surgery
• Orthopaedic oncology
We are proud of our acclaimed training programs, which attract the best and brightest medical students, residents, and fellows, from Michigan, the country, and, indeed, the world. Our trainees are at the forefront of medicine and help us to provide cutting-edge care using the most recent and advanced technologies.
Our research programs are focused both in basic science, to better understand bone and joint disease, and clinical medicine, creating a translational environment that takes state-of-the-art advances directly to the patients who need them.
