My name is Kameron Shams, and I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. I completed my undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Louisville where I had the chance to shadow various medical specialties, which validated a future career in medicine. While attending the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, I gravitated towards the field of orthopaedic surgery after witnessing the positive impact of treating and healing musculoskeletal pathology in a spectrum of patients. I was thrilled to match in orthopaedic surgery at a program with such prestige and tradition as the University of Michigan in tandem with the abundant opportunities for global health and sports team coverage. I enjoy staying active as a weekend warrior on the golf course and basketball courts in addition to hiking and travelling internationally. Currently, I am interested in all subspecialties of orthopaedic surgery, especially sports medicine.
