"I was born in Sweden, lived in Kyoto, Japan for nearly 8 years with my parents and brother, but spent most of my life in Chadd’s Ford, Pennsylvania, about an hour southwest of Philadelphia. I went to Penn State for undergrad, and University of Chicago for medical school. It’s great to be back in the Big Ten, but my football loyalty will always lie with my alma mater. I became interested in Orthopaedic Surgery after my sophomore year of college when I spent the summer volunteering in the ED at Bellevue Hospital, NYC. I spent a lot of time shadowing in the OR that summer and found that I gravitated toward the Orthopaedic cases. As for subspecialty, I’d like to pursue a fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction. My hobbies and interests outside of Orthopaedics include cycling, skiing, photography, carpentry, hiking, and fixing up my house."
