December Message from the Chair

The Holiday Season

Dear friends and colleagues,

As we find ourselves n the final days of the year, it prompts us to reflect on our contributions over the past 12 months and consider future goals, directions and challenges. My hope is that everyone takes time to consider how they can use their unique talents to be of service to others in the incoming year.

Every day, through our work, we are able to ease the pain and suffering of others. It is a great gift and honor that patients and their loved ones place such trust in us. Like many of you, I frequently think how fortunate I am to be in a profession that allows me to make such a positive impact in the world.

It is also essential that we take time to care for ourselves and our loved ones. In the next month, many of us will be shopping, decorating and entertaining family and friends all while trying to maintain our normal routines. To be at our best and to set a positive example to others, we need time to relax, reflect and decompress. I encourage all of you to find time to reflect on what you’re grateful for and enjoy this very meaningful time of year.

I am very thankful to all our employees, our patients, and the opportunity we are given to serve and give back to our local and global communities.

I thank you for your continued commitment in all you do. It’s because of your efforts that we continue to be an example to many and can call ourselves leaders and best.

Respectfully,

Mark E. P. Prince, M.D., FRCS(C)
Professor and Interim Chair, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
