Learn How to Budget for Research Grants (MICHR)

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Online

This workshop is intended for junior investigators applying for any of MICHR's awards or putting in a new proposal; but is open for all interested.

The Principal Investigator (the Project Director) has primary responsibility for budget planning for a new proposal. Not only should the budget translate the science into numbers but it should also be reasonable, allocable, allowable, and consistently applied.

Join MICHR for an online interactive workshop presenting the basics of budgeting for research grants. Learn how to calculate indirect costs, determine calendar months for effort, complete other budget components, and write a budget justification. We will also talk about how to monitor expenses after you are awarded and the closeout (FFR) process. This budgeting workshop is modeled using a NIH budget format.

This online workshop is intended for junior investigators applying for any of MICHR's awards or putting in a new proposal; but is open for all interested. A calendar invite will be sent to all confirmed registrants with the Zoom meeting information.
