Join Our Faculty - Director of Pediatric Genetics

The Department of Pediatrics at University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital invites applications from qualified faculty specializing in pediatric genetics to lead its Division of Genetics, Metabolism, and Genomic Medicine. The Division Director position is a full-time appointment reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.

The Division includes 9 faculty members, 7 genetic counsellors, and 2 metabolic dieticians. Members of the faculty have NIH-, State of Michigan, and industry-supported research programs. The Division oversees combined Pediatrics-Medical Genetics and Medical Genetics residency and Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship training programs.

Responsibilities include promoting faculty research and clinical activities, maintaining their own strong independent research program, and engaging in the training and professional development of students, house officers, fellows and junior faculty.

Candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified in Medical Genetics, and be eligible for appointment as an associate or full professor at the University of Michigan.

Desired qualifications include collaborative leadership and administrative experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, established track record in directing an active research/scholarship portfolio, and proven mentorship ability.
