Gap Year Activities: Between medical school and residency Mikki worked as a general practitioner, doing ENT, pediatric surgery, primary care and pediatric ER until finally deciding to take the USMLE.

About Mikki:
Mikki is from Kingston, Jamaica. She enjoys traveling, outdoor adventures and swimming. She was tired of the sunshine, so she willingly moved to the winter wonderland state, LOL. She chose Michigan because this program is great - we see everything! Here we have a Level 4 NICU which would provide incomparable experiences and opportunities to learn and grow as a competent neonatologist.

About Nicole:
Nicole is a Chicago native who is a Taylor Swift fanatic, dog lover and the world's most proficient napper. She chose Michigan because of the complexity of the patient population and the wonderful people she met during the interview process. She has a rambunctious puppy named Betty and has enjoyed walking all over Ann Arbor with her. She enjoys pilates, trying new restaurants in Ann Arbor and cheering on Michigan football!

About Catherine:
Catherine was born in Malaysia and has lived in Canada, North Carolina, Florida, and Chicagoland before venturing to Michigan for fellowship. Her love language is food, she believes accomplishments should be celebrated with ice cream cake, and her favorite thing is making people laugh!

About Kaitlyn: 
I'm from Novi, MI. I attended the University of Michigan for undergrad where I majored in Neuroscience and Art History, and had my first exposure to the NICU through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program. I completed a Master of Science in Bioethics at Columbia and obtained my MD and MPH at Tulane. I did my residency at UT Southwestern and stayed on an extra year to serve as chief resident.

In my spare time I love to play piano, dance (ballet, salsa, bachata, zouk), cook, and travel. I am beyond excited to be back home for my training and work in the NICU that originally made me want to become a Neonatologist!

About Abby: 
I grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended UT Austin as an undergraduate (hook 'em horns!). I went to medical school at UT Houston before moving up to Cleveland, Ohio to complete my pediatrics residency at Rainbow Babies. After residency, I stayed at Rainbow as a NICU hospitalist for one year.

My husband is an incoming Cardiology fellow at UMich and he grew up in southeast Michigan. We are thrilled to be moving to his home state for fellowship! We have a very sweet covid rescue dog named Reece. Outside of the hospital, I love to spend time with family, explore the outdoors, work on sewing projects, and experiment in the kitchen.
