Past Training:

Undergraduate: Boston University, Boston MA

Medical School: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine

Residency: University of Arkansas/Arkansas Children's Hospital

Personal Hobbies and Interests:

Traveling almost anywhere and everywhere, trying out new restaurants and breweries, running outside, hiking, attempting to cook and hanging out with my 4 dogs and 2 cats!

Why did I choose the Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Michigan?

I chose University of Michigan because it just felt like the perfect fit on interview day. Everyone was nice, laidback, had varied interests in ID and I loved Ann Arbor. Curriculums are pretty much the same anywhere you go and the diversity of the patient population and volume here seemed similar to the busy hospital I came from in residency which is what I was looking for. The people are who sealed the deal for me.

Past Training:

Undergraduate: University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI

Medical School: Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO

Residency: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH

Personal Hobbies and Interests:

I love reading. I love cooking, and looking at websites devoted to recipes that I may never try. I like to run, and am trying to get better at it. Telling stories to my children is also one of my favorite ways to entertain them (and myself).

Why did I choose the Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Michigan?

I spent 10 years as a hospitalist at the University of Michigan, and chose infectious diseases here because I wanted to be at a program with strong teachers and many research opportunities, and knew this program had both in abundance. I love taking care of children with complicated illnesses, and I knew Michigan Medicine would give me the opportunity to care for children with many different kinds of infections and underlying conditions that predispose to infection. I also am a Michigander, and love being here at home!
