Elizabeth Ross, M.D.

Program: Pediatrics
Medical School: Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

About Me:
I grew up in a small farming town in Michigan and knew very early I wanted to be a doctor, inspired by my mother's interactions with the medical profession following multiple autoimmune disease diagnoses. I went to MSU for an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics with a concentration in Immunology. Here I got very involved in autoimmunity research and thought that I would pursue Pathology after medical school- how wrong I was! I quickly realized in medical school that I loved patient interaction and pediatric rheumatology research led me into the field of pediatrics. I completed my medical degree from MSU College of Human Medicine with a Leadership in Rural Medicine certificate. I spent my final years of medical school in Traverse City, and would love to return Up North!

Why I chose Michigan:
If you ask anyone close to me, I bleed Spartan Green- so when I ranked University of Michigan first I myself was incredibly surprised! It came down to the culture I could see through my amazing interview day that brought me to Mott. I could see even through the virtual process how genuinely invested in our learning the leadership is and how the residents work together so well. When it came down to it, this was the place that I could truly see myself getting the best learning experience.
