About Me:
Hi everyone! I'm Kristin, and I grew up in Connecticut. I went to UConn for my undergraduate education, graduating with a degree in Physiology and Neurobiology and a minor in French. I also attended UConn for my MD-PhD training, where I performed research on signaling in heart failure. I have wanted to be a pediatrician for as long as I can remember and am very excited to begin my training at the University of Michigan! I am interested in pediatric cardiology and want to research the mechanisms and signaling behind congenital heart defects and inborn errors of metabolism that affect the heart.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband Erik, newborn son Theo, and dog Dixie! I am an avid college basketball fan and March Madness is my favorite time of year. My husband and I also love trying new restaurants, traveling, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friend and family. We hope to instill these loves in our son and are very excited to move to Ann Arbor and see all it has to offer!
Why I chose Michigan:
I chose U of M because of how welcome I felt during my interview day, and how well supported by the faculty and staff the residents seemed. As someone who aspires to be a physician-scientist, the strong research caliber was a bonus! Ann Arbor also seems like a beautiful place to live.
