About Me:
Hello! I grew up in southeast Michigan and feel happily at home completing residency in Ann Arbor. My interest in pediatrics may stem from the patients' and my shared love of games, puzzles, and the question "why?" My early undergraduate studies at UofM focused on philosophy of mind, but I soon became captivated by the brain that gives rise to it all, completing a BSc in neuroscience and MSc in cognitive psychology. From there, my curiosity shifted to the ways that our brains and cognition emerge, and I completed my MD-PhD at Wayne State University with research focused on MRI applications in pediatric epilepsy and developmental disorders. I'm looking forward to working as a physician-scientist who can both treat neurological disease and advance our understanding of it; I'm fascinated by the process of human development, and so impressed by the insights that little humans can share from their developing perspective. Outside the hospital, I can be found enjoying the outdoors with my lovely partner Rebecca and our dog Sage, tweaking a recipe in the kitchen, or (to the dismay of those within earshot) learning how to play any musical instrument I can get my hands on!
Why I chose Michigan:
Michigan Medicine offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for a wide range of complex neurological patients, so I can be confident I'm building a broad knowledge base that will benefit my future patients. Moreover, the culture of teaching and support facilitates a great environment for working, learning, and living.
