I grew up in northwest Indiana, right on the tip of Lake Michigan. My childhood was one of hiking around the Indiana dunes and fishing, skiing, or playing out on the water. I studied marine biology and global health at Duke University, and then moved out to Seattle for medical school. Thanks to the WWAMI program, I was able to explore my interest in underserved medicine through rotations in rural Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska. I love to travel, listen to live music, read, visit National Parks, and be active outside.
Why I Chose Michigan
I chose Michigan because of the thoughtful, smart, and down-to-earth faculty and residents; strong teaching; great hospital; and opportunities for advocacy and community engagement.
