Prior to becoming a postdoc, I studied how ER stress affected beta-cell function and viability. My research now in Dr. Satin's lab, I am investigating how calcium among cytosol, ER and mitochondria under control and stressed conditions. What channels mediate calcium flux and what channels are modulated in response to ER stress.
