Molecular Pharmacology

Molecular Pharmacology focuses on the fundamental underpinnings of drug action at the level of molecules and cells.  A particular area of emphasis at Michigan Pharmacology is drug-receptor interactions, with detailed analysis of ligand-receptor action, the biochemistry of receptor function, and the molecular events that occur in cells to drive changes in cellular function in physiological and disease states.  Michigan Pharmacology has major research emphases in G-protein signaling, Ion Channels, Protein folding, and Drug Discovery.
