Why did you choose Michigan's residency program? Michigan Medicine offers a wide variety of clinical opportunities. The robust and challenging program prepares residents to practice in a variety of settings. Michigan's ambulatory pharmacists practice at the top of their licenses, and our chronic disease management model is nationally recognized.

Research Topic: Pharmacogenetic testing in the primary care setting: Prevalence, practices, and future opportunities for pharmacists

Writing Topic: Collaboration between primary care providers and oncologists: A pharmacist-led model for care coordination

Hobbies outside of pharmacy: Cooking, adventures on the Great Lakes, and Orangetheory

Favorite Book: Emma (Jane Austen)

Favorite Movie: Rat Race

Advice on how to prepare for Michigan winters: Make sure to invest in a long, down coat. You will learn to value function over fashion in winter. Keep an ice scraper, a shovel, road salt, and a blanket in your car

Favorite part about doing a residency at Michigan Medicine: My co-residents! They make this whole journey so much better

Best advice received from a preceptor: One of my preceptors taught me to never trust what someone else wrote in a patient's chart notes. Make your own assessment based on the data and interpretation of the patient's labs. Even an attending who has been practicing for 20 years can overlook something. Don't be afraid to make therapeutic recommendations as long as you have good science to back you up!
